Care & Repair
What is made by hand can last a lifetime if it is kept well. This page is our promise to help you keep it: simple rituals of care for every piece, and a repair service that treats age as a chapter, never an ending.
The Ritual of Care
A COLĒRE piece is not maintained the way a machine is maintained. It is tended, the way you tend anything living that you love. Natural fibres respond to how they are kept: they breathe, they settle, they soften. Over the years, the texture and tone of your piece will gently change. This is not wear. This is the patina of authenticity, the visible record of a life lived alongside yours, and it is meant to happen.
Caring for Abaca
Our handwoven abaca pieces ask very little of you. A few small habits will keep them beautiful for decades:
Everyday care
To clean, gently wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The fibre was finished by nature and prefers to stay that way.
Keeping and storing
Store your piece somewhere that breathes: a well-ventilated space, never a plastic bag. Keep it flat where its shape allows, away from prolonged moisture and long hours of direct sunlight, which can alter its natural colour over time. A breathable container is ideal.
Best practice for natural fabrics
The same gentle principles serve every natural material in your home: let fibres breathe, keep water and harsh sun at arm's length, clean lightly and rarely rather than harshly and often, and store with air rather than airlessness. Care, like craft, is mostly patience.
The Tag That Keeps the Story
Every piece carries a tag with a QR code that leads to its own story and its own care ritual, kept up to date at clubcolere.com. Less paper, more story, and guidance that never gets lost in a drawer.
Repair: A New Lease of Life
Every client of this house may call on us for tailored support, from the garden utility room, so to speak. We offer a range of options for preserving the life of your piece: subtle minor repairs where a weave has loosened or a thread has strayed, through to something rarer, an entirely personalised artisan edit, where the hands that made your piece give it a wholly new lease of life.
No two repairs are alike, so we begin every one with a conversation. Write to us, tell us about your piece and what it has been through, and we will look after you personally from there.
Write to Us
A person will reply, and it will probably be one of us. Tell us about your piece, ask us anything about care, or simply tell us where it has travelled with you. We love to know.
