Maddison May Kapetanov née Brudenell founded COLĒRE to bring together her Love of Design with a deeper Commitment to People, Materials and the Planet. Rooted in Heritage, Motherhood and a Belief in doing Things with Care, she created COLĒRE to make Beautiful the Norm rather than the Rare Exception.
Every COLĒRE Piece begins with the Knowledge and Skill of People who have spent Years understanding their Materials and refining their Craft. We work with Artisan Partners who bring this Knowledge to every Stage of making, from preparing Natural Materials to the final Hand-finished Piece.

Every COLĒRE Artisan is fairly paid and never asked to work with toxic materials. We pay at least half of every order upfront, so our Artisans can buy materials and begin work without worry.
Our Vision is simple. We want Beautiful to be the Norm, not the Exception. We want Nature and the Artisans who Cultivate, Weave and Craft it to be Cared for and Shielded from Modern-day Pressures rather than Crushed by them.
So we invest directly in our Artisans and our Materials. Profits from every Piece fund our Work to both Nurture and Protect.

COLĒRE comes from the Latin colere, meaning to Cultivate. It is the root of both Culture and Cultivate, and it carries our Belief that beautiful Things should be grown with Care rather than extracted. We chose a Name that is a Philosophy: tend to the Soil, the Craft and the Community, and everything worth keeping will grow.

Yes, entirely. Every Piece is made by Hand in small Batches, and no two are exactly alike. Gentle Variations in Weave and Tone are not Flaws but Signatures, the visible Record of a Human Hand at work.
Abaca is a natural plant fibre and one of the world’s strongest natural fibres. Lightweight yet remarkably durable, it has a distinctive natural texture and warm, earthy tones, entirely as nature intended. We use it without synthetic dyes or chemical treatments, allowing its natural beauty and character to shine through.
Gently wipe with a dry or slightly damp Cloth, keep it away from prolonged Moisture and direct Sunlight, and store it somewhere that breathes rather than in Plastic. Every Piece carries a Tag with a QR Code leading to its own Story and Care Ritual. Over Time the Texture and Tone will soften; this is the Patina of Authenticity, and it is meant to happen.
No, and that is deliberate. Instead of printing Cards, every Product Tag carries a QR Code that links to the Piece's Story and Care Instructions online. Less Paper, more Story.
Yes, every Piece arrives Gift Wrapped in Packaging handmade by our Partner Craft Communities. The Wrapping is part of the Work, made by the same Hands.
